A new Topps baseball card has shattered sales records within its first 24 hours of being released -- and it doesn't even feature a baseball player.
The "rookie" card pictures infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci throwing out the first pitch at the Nationals' home opener last week. An estimated 51,512 cards were sold, making it the best selling baseball card in history, according to Topps.
The previous record was set in 2016 by a card featuring an actual baseball player: Blue Jays' third baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. It sold a total of 19,396 copies.
