Following two days of negotiations, the National Hockey League Players Association has reached an agreement with the NHL board of governors to resume hockey this summer.
The deal, reached late Friday, paves the way for the 24-team tournament to begin August 1st in two hub cities: Edmonton for the Western Conference, and Toronto for the Eastern Conference, according to the NHL. The Stanley Cup Final is scheduled to be played sometime between September 22nd and October 4th, per the agreement.
The regular NHL season was put on hold in March due to the coronavirus pandemic.
