CDC: Coronavirus Spreads Mostly Person-To-Person, Not From Surfaces

The CDC is changing its coronavirus guidelines, saying infections are more likely to come from people than from surfaces.

New research suggests the virus "does not spread easily" from surfaces - although the CDC still recommends washing hands and sanitizing regularly.

However, the virus spreads "very easily and sustainably between people" through respiratory droplets spread by coughing, sneezing, or talking - which makes facemasks and social distancing even more important.
