Many of us are already stressed from the uncertainty of this coronavirus pandemic, so there's no need to add to that anxiety by having a next-door neighbor tackle a DIY project.
So says Frankie Daroux, who argues in New Zealand's Stuff that power tools should be banned while everyone is home under lockdown.
"A home should be a safe, stable space, an environment you can control so it is acceptable to you," claims Daroux in the column, adding, "Yet strangers have control over the sounds that surround you."
Daroux calls the noise pollution inconsiderate, also noting that tackling a project at home has the potential to send someone to the ER, putting a further strain on the health care system.
