As the coronavirus continues to thumb its nose at efforts to prevent its spread, the Kim Jong-un administration continues to insist the deadly virus has not surfaced in North Korea.
Although North Korea responded to the outbreak by closing its borders and quarantining all foreign diplomats in February, skeptics point out that neighboring South Korea reports 10,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 200 deaths.
Adding further doubt to North Korea's claim is a story published by South Korea's Daily NK News in March. It reported at least 200 North Korean soldiers have died after testing positive, while an additional 4,000 have been quarantined.
