The so-called "zombie drug," spice, may have come and gone in the U.S., but it's still a thing in Russia, where horror stories connected to the drug are every bit as disturbing as those that previously circulated in the States.
The latest occurred in the city of Prokopyevsk, where one man reportedly ingested a combination of spice and pain killers -- and then decided to saw off one of his legs. Photos posted online show the unidentified man with a tourniquet wrapped around a bloody stump that ends just above where his knee used to be.
At some point, the man must have realized the error in his ways, because he ended up seeking help at a local hospital. Although he'd lost a lot of blood, doctors say they were able to stem the flow and -- although he's going to live the rest of his life with one leg -- the man is expected to recover.
