After years of servicing deadbeats, the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office is branching out into consumer products.
The office has begun selling beach towels that feature a crime scene outline of a dead body. While a number of Wisconsin residents have accused the product as being in poor taste, medical examiner officials say the towels weren't originally manufactured to be sold to the public. After having them made to hand out at a recent conference, officials found they had a lot left over -- so they decided to sell them.
The dead body towels are going for $20 each. The Medical Examiner's Office says it makes about $2 on each towel sold.
