The Fab Four came in #1 on Billboard's rankings, which were based on a combination of Hot 100 song charts and Billboard 200 album charts. The Beatles, with twenty #1 hits and nineteen #1 albums, were the easy winner.
Coming in at #2 were the Rolling Stones, followed by Elton John, Mariah Carey, and Madonna.
Sir Paul McCartney deserves special credit for appearing twice in the Top 15, both with the Beatles and as a solo artist at #12.
