Since Christmas items have already been put on store shelves before Halloween even kicked off, you might as well start thinking about decorating.
Across the pond, the town of Penzance has already lit up this year's holiday display, which features 150 faux-trees made of plastic. Residents are a bit upset, especially because the municipality bills itself as the UK's first "plastic-free" town.
While officials defended the decision claiming that fake is more sustainable, environmental groups say not so fast, noting the carbon footprint from the manufacturing and shipping is greater than buying a real tree.
If you already have an artificial one, Friends of the Earth advises to use it for as long as possible.
