Flu season is here!
Many people won’t be getting the flu shot because they believe they will catch the flu from the shot.
Well, that’s not the case. That is only a myth.
The flu shot can’t give you the flu because the virus in the vaccine is inactive. Therefore, it can’t transmit disease if it’s not active.
According to a nursing professor, the truth is, you may feel like you have the flu as your body’s immune system prepares to fight the flu. That’s not the same as having the flu.
If you do feel sick after a flu shot, that’s a good thing. It means your body’s immune system is working just fine.
