On Wednesday, Canada officially legalized recreational marijuana nationwide, making them the first industrialized nation to do so. The bill was passed back in June, allowing all adults over the age of 19 to buy or grow marijuana. The country's first legal dispensaries opened today.
But even though pot is now legal, not every province or city has it just yet. Major cities like Vancouver and Toronto are still 'dry' while local retail laws are sorted out. Furthermore, all the people currently behind bars on marijuana charges will soon be able to apply for pardons.
