Happy Indigenous Peoples' Day!
A few years ago the Spokane City Council voted to 6 -1 in favor of renaming Columbus Day to Indigenous Peoples' Day and honoring those who first inhabited this great land.
Today city offices are open and garbage collectors are working their routes. However, the city of Spokane has given us the day off from plugging parking meters.
Back in 2016 when the resolution was before the Council there were about 100 people who showed up at the meeting to show their support. There were also many who came to voice opposition.
What are you feelings now? Have they changed?
