Here’s a job posting that comes with several questions that are begging to be answered.
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is currently looking to fill the position of “Grizzly Bear Conflict Manager” in Montana. Obviously, education and experience in biology or wildlife is required, but it does make you wonder what happened to the person who used to have this job that they need a new one.
Hopefully, it’s just a vacancy created by a retirement. As for job requirements, grizzly trapping, removal, and relocation are potential parts of the gig…but it’s a safe bet that no one really wants to be a part of resolving a “conflict” involving a grizzly bear.
