This story just keeps getting better and better.
The balloon protesting Trump's UK visit last week made an appearance above the London O2 Arena for Pearl Jam's show, after being granted permission by Eddie Vedder.
During the show, Vedder made a few comments about Trump. “He’s actually bringing people together in a great way," he said. "When you get 250,000 protesters of all ages, cultures, different sexual orientations … you know, maybe he’s united people in a way that could be needed in the near future.” He then read aloud anti-Trump posters in the crowd.
The balloon, for which $45,000 was crowdfunded to have made, will be making its way to the United States. After a US company refused to make a duplicate, another $4,500 was raised in a mere 22 hours for the transport of the 20-foot balloon.
The organizers stated that they "exceeded [the] goal to purchase our Baby Trump from the U.K.. Unfortunately, the U.S. company we reached out to would not make it. … All of the funds collected are being deposited in a dedicated account to cover future shipping fees while on tour, publicity, gear and other Baby Trump stuff. Maybe a crib in the shape of the White House. We are the unpaid Resistance.”
