What's a sports network to do when there's no NBA or NHL games to broadcast? Air video game simulations instead, of course.
Here in Spokane KHQ-TV's sports channel (6.2) SWX Right Now is doing a March Madness #QuaranTourney
Starting this weekend, NBC Sports Washington will replace cancelled Wizards and Capitals games with simulations created on the NBA 2K20 and NHL 20 video games.
The first game, Wizards vs. Bucks, will air Saturday night at 7pm, complete with announcers and studio commentary. The virtual Caps will take on the Stanley Cup champion Blues on Tuesday.
A spokesman said the network hopes the simulations will "help provide a greater sense of normalcy during these challenging times".
