Doctors say a woman's breast implants saved her life - by deflecting a bullet.
The victim, a 30-year-old Canadian woman, was shot from close range but her silicone implant deflected the bullet's trajectory, steering it away from her vital organs. She ended up with broken ribs but avoided more serious injury.
The 2018 incident was recounted in the recently-published SAGE Medical Journal, as one of only a handful of recorded incidents where an implant saved a patient's life.
