It took a few weeks but we've witnessed our first kickoff return in the XFL. And it was a doozy!
St. Louis BattleHawks drew the New York Guardians left with Keith Mumphery, who pitched the ball to Joe Powell on a reverse. Powell then evaded four pursuers down the sideline for the touchdown!
XFL kickoffs operate under different rules than the NFL. The current NFL rules encourage fewer returns, while the XFL's rules appear to be even safer while encouraging returns.
