For some, today's news helicopter crash is bringing back memories of a similar tragedy that happened in Spokane.

In May of 1985, a KREM 2 News helicopter went down on the South Hill.

It killed photojournalist Gary Brown and pilot Cliff Richey.

The helicopter was taking off from KREM 2 News to cover Bloomsday, when it hit a tower-support wire in the station parking lot and crashed.

This morning, a helicopter being used by KOMO TV in Seattle, hit the side of the station building, sending it crashing into parked cars below.

Two people, a pilot and photographer, are dead, and a third person who was on the ground is in serious condition.
