A K9 deputy with the Spokane Valley Sheriff's Department is credited with the arrest of a suspected motorcycle thief.

The incident happened early Monday morning.

A Spokane Valley Sheriff’s Deputy was traveling on East Trent Avenue when he noticed a motorcycle with expired tabs.  When the deputy tried to stop the motorcycle, the rider sped away.  A high speed chase then ensued.  Eventually the deputy stopped the chase when speeds became too high.

A few minutes later, that same deputy received word about a hit and run accident near Dishman Mica Road and 16th. When the deputy responded, he noticed it was the same motorcycle involved in the chase a few minutes before. The suspect had run away from the scene.

A check of the motorcycle showed it has been stolen.

The deputy used his K9 partner Laslo to help track down the suspect.

A few minutes later, Laslo located the the suspect hiding underneath a porch along Dishman Mica.

The suspect was identified as 44-year-old Allen Fullerton.  Fullerton was booked into jail on charges of eluding police, possession of a stolen vehicle, resisting arrest, and drug charges.
