Crews responded to a car lot Wednesday morning where 4 to 5 cars were on fire.

Officials said it happen at the A&M Used Autos lot near E. Sprague and N. Smith around 5 a.m. They said the fire spread to the building on the lot.

Sprague was shut down between Lacey and Smith while crews worked to put out the fire. People living in nearby mobile homes had to be evacuated. Officials said power had to be shut off because the fire was threatening a power pole.

The Assistant Fire Chief said the fire could have been started on purpose. The fire is still under investigation.
